National Certificates in Adult Literacy and Numeracy
These qualifications recognise achievement in Skills for Life learning. They are achieved by passing 4 multiple choice tests in Literacy Levels 1 and 2 and Numeracy 1 and 2.
OCR New CLAIT, CLAIT Plus, CLAIT Advanced
The OCR CLAIT Suite offers qualifications at three levels. Level 1 (New CLAIT) builds your proficiency in basic understanding of computers and use of common software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, email, web pages and desktop publishing. Level 2 (CLAIT Plus) takes your skills further whilst increasing your productivity, whilst Level 3 (CLAIT Advanced) creates a high level of proficiency.
Microsoft Office Specialist
The OCR CLAIT Plus and CLAIT Advanced have Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) units integrated into them. Therefore, on achieving the CLAIT certificates you also achieve the relevant Microsoft Office Specialist certification too!
BCS European Computer Driving Licence
Achieving the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) will not only give you confidence with a range of common software packages, but it will improve your employability by giving you an internationally recognised qualification. The ECDL is fast becoming an industry standard that has been adopted by companies such as HSBC, the Bank of England and Virgin Mobile. The European Computer Driving Licence is also offered as the British Computer Society Certificate for IT Users Levels 1 and 2.
BCS Advanced ECDL
The Advanced ECDL is designed to prove an individual’s competence in computer use at a higher skills level than ECDL with a view to efficient and effective use of common software applications. Currently, the Advanced ECDL covers word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software.
